Missing person found! Pls share

As shares by Facebook user and good samaritan - Ray Ugba Morphy
A RATHER SAD STORY.

On Monday, 28th November, at about 5pm, at Asokoro, in Abuja, I saw just by Ecowas building, a young woman of about 26 years roaming the streets and speaking to herself. She was obviously unwell, probably newly disturbed by some trauma. Her clothes were just dirty and dishevelled, not rags, she had an afro hairdo, and she had a bag and she looked forlon and rather sad!

In that girl,  a saw a soul crying for help. She could be my sister, your sister or even anyone's daughter. So I approached her. She spoke well, an evidence of good breeding. But then after being initially friendly, she became very hostile when I began to probe her. My intention was to see if i could get info to enable me reach her people. She wouldn't or couldn't tell. All she would say is that she is from London and her name, Chika. Of course, this information from her, may or may not be true.

So I left her, as it was getting late. So on Tuesday, early in the morning, I mobilised my staff and we got cracking. Some went in search for her on the streets while I went online in search of a psychiatric hospital or unit. We drew a blank. But luckily after physical visits to all government hospitals in Abuja, we finally found one at Karu.

Meanwhile those searching the streets for her could only locate her at about 4pm in the evening being that she is mobile and ambulatory.

To cut a long story short, I can now report that the lady in this pix is now (Tuesday 29/11/2016) safely admitted in a psychiatric hospital. It wasn't easy but she has been admitted with me registered as her next of kin. And she is responding to treatment. She is simply suffering from treatable mental illness and no one should be abandoned the way our society seems to abandon the mentally ill. Sure, it cost me time and money, but it is worth every bit of it.

We still have not been able to get any information from her regarding her family or her people. So please, contact me via inbox if you know her.

Meanwhile, can we all share very widely until someone can identify her and come for her. It is very likely that her people are also searching for her.

(Please share. By sharing widely, someone may recognise her. PLEASE SHARE)
Anyone who knows her family should pls pass the information to them.

God bless Ray Ugba Morphy

US election: Ted Cruz endorses Trump for President

Defeated Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz has endorsed Donald Trump in the race for the White House.

The Texas senator, who fought Mr Trump in a bitter primary battle, announced his plans in a Facebook post.

Mr Cruz said he would fulfil his promise to vote for the Republican nominee and that electing Hillary Clinton would be "wholly unacceptable".
He drew ire at the Republican National Convention in July, when he was booed off stage for not endorsing Mr Trump.

"This election is unlike any other in our nation's history. Like many other voters, I have struggled to determine the right course of action in this general election," his statement read.

"After months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump."

Mr Cruz said he decided to back his former foe due to six key policy differences between Mr Trump and Hillary Clinton, including the fate of the Supreme Court, Obamacare, immigration and energy.

Omg! HIV Positive Veteran Prostitute Confesses How She Makes Men Fall for Her

A woman who has been into prostitution for a long time now has opened up on how she 'charms' men to part ways with huge sums of money and the secret she uses to satisfy them in bed.
She shared her story with B-metro.co.zw.
**********
The narrative of a s*x worker’s cycle can be told through the eye of ‘Nomalanga 38, although age and disease have caught up, it’s still game on for her. She can’t compete with those at their prime mostly between the ages groups 17-30 but still has clientele.
The routine is patronizing a comfortable corner at a hotel pub, target market is business executives, politicians and businessmen-basically those that can part with good money for an ‘old woman’s charm’.
“Young girls don’t know how to make a man feel special. They make it obvious they want money. I become the ‘wife away from home’ and that means trust and a regular client is guaranteed,"
she said with a grin of institutional knowledge.
According to information from the National Aids Council (NAC) 69 percent of prostitutes in Nomalanga’s age group 30-39 are HIV positive closely followed by the 25-29 age group with a 55 percent prevalence. The young ones, the most active that is, ages 18-24 have a 36 percent prevalence. Nomalanga admits she is lucky to be alive. Having gone through the junior ranks to where she is, if she had to be a prostitute all over again, there are things she would do differently.
“The problem is that when young you think you are in it for fast money. You might make a lot of money this week and be without a cent next week and that week you won’t make anything close to the previous week,” she said. The money myth will force a prostitute to sleep with more people in a short space of time and that translates to more exposure to disease and other vices.
A research by NAC reveals most s*x workers become drug and alcohol abusers to ease pressure that comes with the oldest profession.
“ In this kind of work, beer helps us not to feel shy, you will not be embarrassed anymore. Even if you want to dance or do even those things which you may not be able to do when you are not drunk,’
said one s*x worker.
It took a rude awakening for Nomalanga to bounce back from her death-bed in 2010. She tested positive in 2007.
“I lost all hope to live because I was a dead person walking. At first I took my medicines but along the way I started defaulting because I was not keeping track of time and I wasn’t organized. There are times when I would sleep at a client’s place and the tablets would be at home,” she said.
Dr Cleophas Chimbetete from Zimbabwe Aids Care Foundation said when a patient relapses, like Nomalanga did, the HIV strand in her blood becomes drug resistant. Therefore, the resistant variant HIV grows and comes to predominate while the variant that is being dealt with by the drug remains minimal and diluted and that leads to a patient’s deterioration because the drug resistant virus multiplies. In such a case a new combination of drugs is administered to the patient provided it’s not too late.
“I was saved and since then I take my medicines religiously without compromise and safe s*x is key. I have to at least see off my daughter to university,” she added.
S*x work is illegal in Zimbabwe but because it’s thriving as a tax-free venture it’s popular and so, s*x workers are a high risk population. Nomalanga is her first name.

Ex-drug deal graduates at 67 from Colombian University

CNN — David Norman is proving that if you keep chasing your dreams you will succeed.

The Harlem native, who served multiple prison sentences and battled an addiction to heroin, graduated from Columbia University School of General Studies last week. At 67, Norman is the oldest graduate of his class of 547 to receive his bachelor's degree. The average age of the graduation class this year was 29.

"Columbia University School of General Studies is dedicated to serving nontraditional students who want to pursue a traditional Ivy League education," said Christina Gray, communications officer at Columbia University. "And David Norman is but one example of the kind of exceptional students we serve."

Norman's journey to the graduation stage wasn't an easy one. When he was a teenager, he fell into a life of crime and into the grips of drug addiction.

"I was a very shy kid, and I was also selling narcotics, and in that capacity you were taught not to show feelings," said Norman in a press release."One of the things I realized early was that when I got high, I was able to function socially, which was one of my biggest problems."

Life in recovery after prescription addiction

Norman's last prison stint ended in 1995; he was serving time for manslaughter. After he was released, he took a job volunteering as a counselor for a transitional services program. This program helps freed inmates transition back into society.

About two-thirds of released prisoners are arrested for a new crime within three years, and three-quarters are arrested within five years, according in the Bureau of Justice Statistics.

"That job changed my perspective. It let me know that I have something to offer," Norman said. "I decided I would devote my time to working toward something bigger than myself."

Norman said he has maintained a drug-free life for over 20 years. On May 16, he received his bachelor's degree in philosophy.

"I remember a time when people would avoid me on the street, because of my attitude," said Norman. "Now I smile and say hello to people and ask them how they're doing."

He works as a research assistant at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. He also continues to mentor those who have been incarcerated.

"When my perspective changed, my life changed. Whatever happens outside has to begin inside."
